An active member is one who participated in the establishment of the Union or joined it after its formation, based on the acceptance of their membership application by the Board of Directors.
Union Membership Recognition:
The member is entitled to have their name mentioned on all their printed materials, documents, and papers as a member of the Arab Union of Customs Brokers, along with the Union’s logo.
Participation in Meetings:
Active members can attend regular and extraordinary meetings of the General Assembly and vote during these meetings.
Representation:
Active members have the right to nominate a representative for themselves on the Union’s Board of Directors.
Eligibility for Presidency:
Active members can run for the presidency of the Union and submit a program that will effectively serve the Union.
Membership Card:
Active members are entitled to receive a membership card that identifies their affiliation with the Union (ID card).
Attendance at Conferences and Seminars:
Active members can attend conferences, seminars, and events organized by the Union.
Magazine Subscription:
Active members will receive a copy of the Union’s annual magazine.
Participation in Research and Studies:
Active members have the right to participate in research and studies that the Union may wish to conduct.
Committee Membership:
Active members may join committees created by the Union.
Access to Union Materials:
Active members will be informed of newsletters, studies, research, and programs issued by the Union.
Meeting Costs:
The Union covers the costs for attending the General Assembly (once a year) or Board meetings (twice a year).
Timely Payment of Membership Fees:
Active members must pay their membership fees within the specified timeframes.
Contribution to Customs Broker Profession:
Active members should work towards elevating the customs brokerage profession in their respective countries.
Adherence to Union Regulations:
Active members must comply with the Union’s Articles of Association and the governing rules.
Participation in Union Activities:
Active members are expected to participate in studies, research, and committees related to the development of the customs brokerage profession when requested by the Union.
Respecting Other Members:
Active members must not engage in any deliberate or direct harm against any other member of the Union.
Sharing Relevant Laws:
Active members should provide the Union with any laws or regulations related to customs brokerage in their country.
Disseminating Union Standards:
Active members are responsible for informing their local associations or unions about the Union’s professional standards, regulations, and programs, encouraging them to adopt and implement these standards, provided they do not contradict local laws.
The rights and duties of an observer member are similar to those of an active member, with the following exceptions:
No Voting Rights:
Observer members do not have the right to vote in General Assembly meetings.
Ineligibility for Elections:
Observer members cannot run for the presidency or board membership, as these positions are limited to active members only.
No Financial Obligations for Meetings:
Observer members are not financially obligated to attend meetings.
An affiliate member is anyone who submits a membership application through the membership form and whose application is accepted by the Board of Directors.
Participation in Union Activities:
Affiliate members are allowed to participate in the scientific and professional activities organized by the Union.
Discounts on Training and Workshops:
Affiliate members receive a 20% discount on all training courses and workshops organized by the Union.
Priority in Publishing Articles:
Affiliate members receive priority for writing articles in the Union’s magazine after approval from the concerned authorities.
