The training course on “Customs Sciences” has officially started at Alexandria University.

On Thursday, April 17, 2025, the free training course titled “Customs Sciences” was launched at Alexandria University – Faculty of Business. The course was organized by the Arab Union of Customs Clearance Professionals as part of the Union’s ongoing efforts to raise customs awareness and build the capacities of economic operators and university students across the Arab world.

The course targeted diverse groups, including business faculty students, exporters, importers, customs clearance agents, as well as those interested in import, export, and logistics fields. This initiative aims to qualify participants both theoretically and practically by introducing basic customs procedures, the customs clearance process map, required documents, and relevant authorities. This contributes to enhancing practical understanding of the customs system and its modern applications.

The opening session was inaugurated by Assistant Professor Dr. Mohamed Osman, Assistant Professor of Economics and Public Finance at the Faculty of Business – Alexandria University, on behalf of Prof. Dr. Ayman Shtoui, Dean of the Faculty of Business. In his welcoming speech, he greeted the attendees and emphasized the importance of academic and professional cooperation in building a qualified generation of customs professionals.

Mr. Mohamed Rashwan, Head of Human Resources and Capacity Building Sector at the Egyptian Customs Authority, also expressed his thanks to Dr. Mamdouh El-Rifai, President of the Arab Union of Customs Clearance Professionals, praising the significant efforts the Union exerts in customs training and qualification. He emphasized the importance of repeating such events to enhance the efficiency of workers and operators in this vital sector.

Dr. Mamdouh El-Rifai affirmed that this course represents the launch of a series of specialized training programs that the Union intends to implement in the coming phase, supporting economic operators and young cadres across various Arab countries.

This course comes as part of strengthening the partnership between academic institutions and the Arab Union of Customs Clearance Professionals, aiming to link theoretical knowledge with practical application and to prepare a qualified generation of customs professionals capable of keeping pace with developments in this vital sector.
