The meeting commenced at the headquarters of the Jordan Customs Department in the capital, Amman, under the chairmanship of Dr. Mamdouh Al-Rifai, President of Arab Union of Customs Executives (AUCE), with the participation of Mr. Wasfi Al-Shawaqfeh, member of the Union’s Board of Directors and the Union’s representative in Jordan. They were received by His Excellency Major General Ahmad Al-Akalik, Director General of the Jordan Customs Department, along with representatives from the Jordanian Customs.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Mamdouh Al-Rifai expressed his thanks to Major General Ahmad Al-Akalik for the warm welcome and generous hospitality. He emphasized the prominent role of the Jordan Customs Department in supporting joint Arab customs cooperation.
The meeting addressed ways to enhance mutual cooperation between the two parties, including discussions on the Union’s proposals to strengthen collaboration through the organization of joint activities and events that contribute to supporting and building the capacities of Arab economic operators and customs administrations.
For his part, Major General Ahmad Al-Akalik welcomed the Arab Union of Customs Brokers and praised the Union’s role and activities at the regional level. He emphasized that the upcoming phase requires greater technical integration and exchange of expertise among Arab customs administrations, wishing the Union continued success in achieving the objectives for which it was established.
