By kind invitation of Mr. Sherif El-Kilani, the first meeting of the Joint Committee between the Egyptian Customs Authority and the Arab Union of Customs Brokers was held on Monday, March 10, 2025, at the headquarters of the Customs Authority in the New Administrative Capital. The meeting was attended by the heads of central departments of the Egyptian Customs Authority, representatives of the Arab Union of Customs Brokers, members of the committee at the General Secretariat, and heads of customs brokers’ unions and syndicates at customs ports in Egypt.
The meeting aimed to discuss and study the challenges and obstacles faced by customs stakeholders at various customs sites and ports. Additionally, it sought to develop an action plan for organizing joint activities and events directed at both customs employees and customs brokers, with the goal of improving performance and building the capacities of customs brokers as essential partners to the customs authority, thereby supporting the overall customs system.
