Dr. Mohammed Obeidat, President of the Arab Consumers Union, received Dr. Mamdouh Al-Rifa’i, President of the Arab Union of Customs Brokers, in Amman, Jordan, for the signing of a joint cooperation protocol between the two parties.
The protocol aims to remove obstacles facing the trade and industry sectors in the Arab world, address challenges faced by exporters and importers, highlight the role of customs clearance in advancing the Arab economy, and simplify rules of origin and land transport difficulties.
Additionally, the protocol seeks to recommend the establishment of an information center to resolve import and export issues, advocate for the unification of standard specifications across Arab countries, and explore ways to ensure the protection of Arab consumers and provide them with a secure umbrella.
Attending the agreement signing from the Arab Union of Customs Brokers were Dr. Mamdouh Al-Rifa’i, President of the Union; Ms. Rana Al-Jamal, Director of the President’s Office; and General Assembly members Mr. Wasfi Shawqfeh and Mr. Taysir Al-Khudari. From the Arab Consumers Union, Dr. Mohammed Obeidat, President of the Union, and Mr. Sahm Al-Abadi, Media Advisor, were present.
