The First Undersecretary of the Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry, Mr. Saeed Abdullah, Head of the Sector for Agreements and Foreign Trade, received Dr. Mamdouh Al-Rifai, President of the Arab Union of Customs Brokers, to sign a joint cooperation protocol between the two parties at the sector’s headquarters in Cairo.

The protocol between the Arab Union of Customs Brokers and the Egyptian Sector for Agreements and Foreign Trade aims to prepare studies on the obstacles facing trade exchange between Arab countries and ways to facilitate intra-Arab trade. It also seeks to activate joint Arab agreements, organize joint training courses to transfer expertise and develop human resources, and promote the culture of integration between the private sector and government entities in Arab countries.

It is noteworthy that one of the most important objectives of the protocol is cooperation in providing information needed by exporters, importers, and customs brokers in Arab countries, spreading customs awareness within the Arab community to protect its economic resources, and media cooperation by publishing the activities and achievements of both parties in their periodic bulletins and specialized magazines.

The meeting also discussed several Arab economic issues affecting Arab citizens, introduced the union’s activities and recent steps taken through communication with entities, institutions, companies, and individuals in Arab countries, and explored ways to cooperate across all economic fields, develop intra-Arab trade, and overcome obstacles to increasing trade exchange between Arab countries.
