The Arab Union of Customs Brokers hosted by the Bahrain Logistics Syndicate

Mr. Abdul Ghaffar Al-Bastaki, President of the Bahrain Logistics Syndicate, received Dr. Mamdouh Al-Rifai, President of the Arab Union of Customs Brokers, in the Bahraini capital, Manama.

The meeting discussed the nature of the Union, its goals, and the challenges facing the customs clearance sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Al-Rifai was briefed on the objectives and operational mechanisms of the Syndicate in supporting the customs clearance process in Bahrain. The President of the Arab Union of Customs Brokers welcomed Bahrain’s membership in the Union. Preliminary approval was given for Al-Bastaki to represent the Union in Bahrain after completing the procedures outlined in the Union’s bylaws and coordinating with the Union’s General Secretariat, given the Union’s recognition of the Syndicate’s constructive role and growing development despite being in its first year.

Al-Bastaki expressed appreciation for the valuable trust placed by the Union. The President of the Arab Union of Customs Brokers presented a draft memorandum of understanding between the Union and the Syndicate aimed at enhancing joint work, advancing the customs brokerage profession, and exchanging information and expertise between both parties.

Attendees from the Arab Union of Customs Brokers included Mr. Abdullah Al-Tuwaijri, a member of the Union’s General Assembly. From the Syndicate, Mr. Youssef Al-Haiki, Vice President of the Bahrain Logistics Syndicate, was present.
