Mr. Mohamed Mukhlif Mansour Al-Enezi, Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Affairs and Trade Development at the Kuwaiti Ministry of Commerce and Industry, received Dr. Mamdouh Al-Rifai, President of the Arab Union of Customs Executives, and his accompanying delegation at the ministry’s headquarters in Kuwait.
The meeting addressed several Arab economic issues of concern to Arab citizens, introduced the union, its goals, activities, and the steps it has taken recently through communication with entities and institutions across Arab countries. The discussion also focused on ways to enhance the development of intra-Arab trade and cooperation with the union on the Arab electronic portal project.
Dr. Mamdouh Al-Rifai noted that the union has signed cooperation agreements with several Arab customs authorities, including Lebanese, Sudanese, Egyptian, and Kuwaiti customs, as well as an agreement with the Egyptian Ministry of Commerce and Industry, aiming to achieve the desired cooperation across Arab countries to reach economic integration.
He added that the union is working diligently to achieve its goals, promote intra-Arab trade, combat the parallel economy, and fight customs smuggling by raising awareness and knowledge within Arab society. To this end, the union is preparing to establish the Arab electronic portal, which will include all economic, commercial, and industrial information that supports the enhancement of intra-Arab trade.
Mr. Mohamed Mansour Al-Enezi welcomed the Arab Union of Customs Executives, headed by Dr. Mamdouh Al-Rifai, after reviewing the union’s nature and objectives aimed at developing trade exchange among Arab countries to achieve Arab economic integration. He also emphasized cooperation with the union on the Arab electronic portal project, which the union is implementing, by providing the union with commercial, industrial, and restricted goods information specific to Kuwait needed for the portal.
The meeting was attended on behalf of the Arab Union of Customs Executives by Dr. Mamdouh Al-Rifai, President of the Union; Mr. Saadoun Mazid Al-Husseini, Board Member and Kuwait’s representative to the union; Mr. Abdul Ghaffar Al-Bastaki, Board Member; and Mr. Abdullah Al-Tuwaijri, General Assembly Member. From the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Mohamed Mansour Al-Enezi and several ministry officials were present.
