The Arab Union of Customs Executives signs a protocol with the first customs authority in the Gulf Cooperation Council, the Kuwaiti Customs Authority.

The Director General of the General Administration of Kuwaiti Customs, Counselor Jamal Hadel Al-Jalawi, received Dr. Mamdouh Al-Rifai, President of the Arab Union of Customs Executives, at the headquarters of the Kuwaiti Customs Administration to sign a cooperation protocol between the Union and Kuwaiti Customs.

The protocol aims to promote customs culture within Arab society to protect its resources and economies, organize joint training courses to develop and train human resources of mutual interest, and prepare joint lists of all goods and products prohibited from entering Kuwait. These lists will be published on the Union’s website to raise awareness among exporters, importers, and customs executives. Additionally, the protocol grants members of the Arab Union of Customs Executives priority and privileges in dealing with obstacles and challenges within Kuwaiti customs departments.

Counselor Jamal Al-Jalawi praised the Union’s role in linking and developing the Arab economy, noting the significant progress the Union has made recently by signing agreements with major Arab customs authorities and customs unions across the Arab world. He emphasized Kuwait’s full support for the Union to achieve its goals.

Dr. Mamdouh Al-Rifai commended Kuwait’s role within the Gulf Cooperation Council and in boosting intra-Arab investment. He also highlighted the Union’s efforts to combat commercial fraud through awareness and knowledge dissemination via seminars, training courses, and conferences.

Attending on behalf of the Arab Union of Customs Executives were Dr. Mamdouh Al-Rifai, President of the Union; Mr. Saadoun Mazid Al-Husseini, Board Member and Kuwait’s representative to the Union; Mr. Abdul Ghaffar Al-Bastaki, Board Member; and Mr. Abdullah Al-Tuwaijri, General Assembly Member. From the General Administration of Kuwaiti Customs, Counselor Jamal Hadel Al-Jalawi; Mr. Adnan Al-Qudaibi, Deputy Director General of Customs; Mr. Ibrahim Dashti, Head of the Customs Executives Department; Ms. Mona Al-Rashidi, Director of the Technical Office; and several other Kuwaiti customs officials were present.
