The activities of the “Green Customs 2025” Forum kicked off today, organized by the Arab Union of Customs Clearance Professionals in cooperation with Alexandria University – Faculty of Business, held at the faculty’s headquarters with wide participation from representatives of customs and environmental authorities, experts, academics, and the business community.
The forum comes amid the growing global trend towards adopting environmentally friendly trade policies and within joint efforts to promote the concept of Green Customs as a tool to achieve sustainable development and comply with international agreements related to environmental protection and biodiversity.
The forum’s opening session included welcoming speeches from several prominent figures, including:

In his opening remarks, Dr. Mamdouh El-Rifai expressed his pleasure in participating in the forum, stating:
“It is my pleasure and honor to be with you today at this prominent event, which brings together academic and professional expertise to discuss one of the most important topics on the international agenda: Green Customs and its role in achieving sustainable development.
The shift toward Green Customs is no longer optional but a necessity driven by environmental and economic challenges. At the Arab Union of Customs Clearance Professionals, we believe that adopting green customs policies, simplifying procedures, and digital transformation are all factors that contribute to sustainable economic growth, environmental preservation, and support for Arab and international trade.
I also extend my thanks to Alexandria University for its generous hosting, to the Egyptian Customs Authority for its continuous efforts, and to Misr Insurance Company for its support of this forum, which we hope will be a practical step towards a more sustainable future in the customs sector.”
The forum targets a diverse audience including customs employees, academics, customs clearance professionals, economic operators, university students, as well as entities concerned with environment, import, and export.
This forum serves as an effective dialogue platform aiming to exchange expertise and strengthen partnerships between the public and private sectors within the framework of environmental protection and sustainable development.
