Arab Cooperation Protocol between the Arab Unions of Customs Brokers and Standards and Metrology

The Arab Union of Customs Brokers signed a cooperation protocol with its counterpart, the Arab Union for Standards and Metrology, on December 18, 2017, for a renewable period of two years. The agreement aims to advance the establishment of a joint Arab authority to unify standards and measurements, adopt the latest technological methods and electronic systems in the fields of standards, measurements, and quality to achieve the best Arab economic returns and expedite customs procedures. It also seeks to provide real support to Arab Customs in combating commercial fraud and tax evasion, organize meetings and scientific seminars on topics of mutual interest between the two unions, exchange expertise, and develop future plans and visions that support facilitating trade exchange among Arab countries.

The protocol signing was witnessed by Mr. Samir Abu Al-Nasr, Secretary-General of the Arab Union of Customs Brokers, and Dr. Huda Issa, Secretary-General of the Arab Union for Standards and Metrology.
