The President of the Arab Union of Customs Brokers meets with the Secretary General of the World Customs Organization to discuss avenues of cooperation.

Dr. Mamdouh Al-Rifai, President of the Arab Union of Customs Brokers, met with Mr. Ayan Saunders, Secretary General of the World Customs Organization, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League, on the sidelines of the Arab Smart Customs Forum.

During the meeting, Dr. Mamdouh welcomed the Secretary General of the World Customs Organization, praising his efforts in providing technical support to customs administrations and facilitating procedures for customs stakeholders, which contributes to reducing customs clearance time and enhancing the capabilities of customs brokers.

The meeting discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between the Union and the Organization, particularly in transferring and applying the best international customs practices in Arab countries, and developing customs policies and procedures according to global standards. The two sides also explored mechanisms for cooperation in organizing training programs aimed at customs brokers and customs stakeholders, with the goal of raising their efficiency, increasing awareness of modern customs procedures, and improving the trade environment in the Arab region.
